OCEAN WONDERS

Manila Ocean Park should be on everyone's list of places to visit when in Manila. It is the first marine-themed park in the country and it houses a total of more than 14,000 creatures under the sea and over the sky.

I'm glad I was able to see and enjoy the marine life attractions that the oceanarium offers last summer. We were short of time so we just availed the promo that fit in our scheduled time frame. The promo that we got included adventure to the following attractions: Oceanarium, Trails to Antartica (Penguin Exhibit), Jellies Exhibit, Birds of Prey Kingdom, Fish Spa, Sharks and Rays Dry Encounter, Sea Lion Show, Bird Show, and the Symphony Evening Show.

Here's a sneak peek and description (from the website) of each of the attractions we saw. Sneak peek only because I wasn't able to take a lot of photos since I was busy beholding the beauty of the aquatic life. Well we should take time in admiring the beauty that's presented right before our eyes, shouldn't we? :)

Oceanarium. The oceanarium is a stunning display of marine life in the ocean depths through Asia's largest underwater viewing tunnel where you will be surrounded with over 300 sea creatures from the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Trails to Antarctica. At Trails to Antarctica with its four zones, Manila Ocean Park brings you closer to the driest, coldest, highest and most desolate place on Earth so you can learn about the distant, frozen wilderness and see Humboldt penguins live.

Jellies Exhibit. Learn about different jellyfish species from all over the world, from the smallest, largest, and even the most dangerous at the Jellies Exhibit. Designed with the newest technology in lighting, music and multimedia effects to heighten the sense of appreciation for these dancing fairies of the sea.

Birds of Prey Kingdom. The Birds of Prey Kingdom features one of the most stunning coastal raptors in the country, the Brahminy Kites (Haliastur indus) which is locally known as Lawin in Tagalog and Banog in Visayas. Have a close encounter with these winged wonders within a unique bird sanctuary as they perched in a hanging bridge along the coast of Manila Bay.

Aquatic Fish Spa. Relax and pamper your feet as doctor fishes exfoliate your skin.

Sea Lion and Bird Show. Be amazed by the tricks performed by the talented sea lions and intelligent birds.

Symphony Evening Show. Just sit back and enjoy the magnificent show that is unfolding before your eyes.

For Sharks and Rays Dry Encounter, however, personal taking of photos is not allowed. You may buy your photos taken by their photographer though.

The attractions in Manila Ocean Park are open for all ages and for all types of audiences! :) You can invite your siblings, parents and friends to a themed-park date that is very informational and educational.
